Omni Tucson National
Golf Resort & Spa
Description:
At the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa, golfers can take great
comfort in the fact that they are walking in the steps of the PGA Tour
players who have gone before them. The boutique resort, located in the
exclusive neighborhoods north of downtown Tucson, has played host to the
PGA Tour’s Tucson Open since 1976. In fact, the pros rank the 18th
hole (No. 9 on the Gold Course) as one of the most challenging finishing
holes on the tour. And well they should....at 465 yards with water on
both sides of the tee shot, this par 4 plays uphill to a well bunkered
green that slopes from back to front and must be judged correctly to post
a good score. Many a tournament has been decided by this signature hole.
The
resort itself boasts 167 luxury accommodations including deluxe rooms,
suites, casitas and haciendas, some with fireplaces, spacious living areas,
fully-equipped kitchens and all offering a balcony or patio with spectacular
views of the mountains, fairways and pools. Each room is appointed in
a warm and rich Southwestern decor and offers a full complement of amenities.
The recent $1,200,000 renovation to “The Spa: an Oasis of Wellness
and Relaxation” provides a world-class array of facilities, equipment
and signature services for both men and women. Spa-goers and golfers alike
are guaranteed to be pampered to the max. The new menu of services includes
not only therapeutic body work treatments, but a wide array of stretching,
yoga and fitness classes, including the Golf Stretch Class, (exclusive
to Omni Tucson National) to meet the physical requirements of golfers,
Tour Players and high handicap players alike.
Fine
dining and good service is what you would expect at this recipient of
a AAA Four-Diamond and Mobile Travel Guide Four Star rating, and both
are there in abundance. One of the best 19th Holes in Tucson, Legends
offers a casual atmosphere after golf or dinner. The sunset hues on the
Catalina Mountains are as red as the tender steaks served in the Catalina
Grille.
The resort is just a 1/2 hour from Tucson International Airport or 1
1/2 hours from Sky Harbor in Phoenix, and just minutes from nearby shopping
and local nightlife.
